the unburied. the saint of darkness

by András Visky

translated by Jozefina Komporaly

The play is a bold and poetic take on Antigone’s story, featuring Mother Teresa as a contemporary reflection of the Greek protagonist. Experiencing a similar sense of responsibility, duty and mission as her fabled counterpart, Teresa faces society’s utter inability to deal with the inequalities in the world, through tragedies such as forced migration.

Co-directed by the company’s artistic directors, an ensemble of four actors of different nationalities will play Teresa in a promenade performance in which the audience will literally travel on a journey with the title character. Visky, essayist and resident dramaturg and associate artistic director at Cluj-Napoca Hungarian Theatre in Romania and also a member of the Széchenyi Academy of Literature and Arts (Hungary), will attend and take part in two post show talks.
