Phew. What a start to the year. We can’t quite believe it’s only February – so much has happened already.

If you follow us on social media, you will know the big news: Foreign Affairs won The Stage International Award 2026.

We are still pinching ourselves. We are beyond proud and truly grateful to The Stage and the judges for selecting us – especially given the incredible projects on the shortlist. It means the world to be recognised specifically for our work in translation and cross-cultural collaboration.

However, as we reflect on that whirlwind night (which actually saw us get out of our rehearsal tracksuits and dress up!), we are reminded of a significant milestone. This year marks exactly a decade since we launched our Theatre Translator Mentorship – the programme that has become the cornerstone of our work, and which to date has supported twenty-three emerging theatre translators working into English.

It is a bittersweet moment of celebration. While we hold this award, we are also pausing. We have had to put the launch of the 7th edition of the mentorship on hold, as recent funding applications to support it were not successful.

While this is a difficult pause, the award serves as a timely reminder of why this work is vital. It has only strengthened our resolve to champion theatre in translation and the translators who make it possible.

Stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, we will continue to celebrate the win – though back in less fancy attire, and with our hands full of projects. Watch this space.

Until next time,
Camila & Trine

stay connected

We usually send out one newsletter a month – unless we’re in the thick of a project, in which case you might hear from us a little more often. It’s a personal update from Camila and Trine, with stories, news, and what’s inspiring us right now.

You can also find us on X, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. While we do share updates there, social media isn’t always our top priority – the newsletter is where we keep things most consistent and personal.

We use both to share upcoming opportunities for theatre-makers and translators – along with new projects, events, and other ways to get involved.
