Irene first worked with us during our 2016 translation showcase and we were so enamoured with her that we invited her to become the youngest core member of our actors’ ensemble. In the time since, she has been an inspiration for us, enriching our ensemble practice and work, and recently took a key role in the development of our latest Spring Equinox show.

The owner of a beautifully warm singing voice that enchants everyone who hears it, Irene is a resourceful and multi-talented actor who continues to surprise us with her adventurous nature and ability to shine through every challenge.

Irene has conquered our hearts with her sweet but fiery nature and caring personality. Generous and intense in her acting, it is hard to take your eyes off her whilst watching her perform or indeed whilst sharing the stage with her.

We are proud and grateful to have such a talented young performer as part of the company and as a dear friend.

We have conducted a mini ‘interview’ with Irene which we hope will give you an insight into why he’s one of our favourite people.

We will be sharing our love over social media and through our newsletters and we invite you to join us – #FALoves and have your say!

I started acting when I was a kid and fell in love with it. I acted in various plays before moving to London where I trained with Scott Williams in Meisner technique at the Impulse Company and then started working in both theatre and film. I joined [Foreign Affairs] last year after acting in their [Foreign Affairs] Translates! showcase and I’m proud to have been part of their ensemble since then.

How many languages do you speak?
I speak Italian and English. I also attempt French but I’m not very good!

What’s your favorite place in the world?
Home. As much as I love travelling and discovering new places, my favourite place will always be where my family is.

What’s your hidden talent?
I used to do martial arts so I can blow a candle with a sword, does that count? I also make really good risotto!

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
You don’t know what other people are thinking so don’t think for them, just be present in the moment.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
If I could change one thing in the world, I would change the people in power. (It’s not my biggest dream but I do think it would make such a big difference for a better world.)
