Every month we share our upcoming plans as well as offer insights into our hopes and dreams for the future. We hope you enjoy!

Last month was filled with extreme ups and downs and it was often difficult to keep up with the emotional rollercoaster! From a major f**k-up and teary trips down memory lane, to an activist Town Hall meeting and birthday celebrations in the park, October certainly kept us on our toes.

This month, we continue our work on our core artist development programmes: our Theatre Translator Mentorship and recently launched Theatre Translator Lab, and our ensemble workshops. We are forever grateful for the passion, dedication and work of team members and participating artists alike, as they truly keep our spirits up in these difficult times.

We’re also starting to get ready for our translation showcase, the product of our mentorship programme, which will take place in January 2021. For the first time ever, the showcase will be presented online and we can’t wait to share the work of these talented translators, introducing the work of playwrights from Latvia, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Syria, and Brazil to English-speaking audiences.

We’re currently putting together a December Solstice celebration, both to mark the year’s shortest day and longest night (in the northern hemisphere), and to remember that despite everything, light comes after darkness. In true Foreign Affairs style, you can expect singing, dancing and baking, as well as some silly games and opportunities to connect with members of the company. Stay tuned for more details.

As we face another month of further restrictions, not only here in the UK but also across Europe and beyond, it’s hard not to long for time spent with loved ones that is not through a screen … How about you? How are you getting along? Let us know by connecting with us on social media or drop us a line.
