ABOUT THE PLAY
Commissioned by the National Theatre of Budapest and in response to the the Eighth Commandment: “Thou shalt not steal!” András Visky wrote the play Porn.

‘The author was inspired by events that happened to people very close to him and the play was born out of the merging of two real stories. These stories are set in 1980s Romania.’

ABOUT THE GIRL
Our character, the girl whom the story is about, is smart, strong, fragile and somewhat kooky. She is capable of extreme emotions. She is both erratic and fascinating in every aspect.

ABOUT THE READING
The reading is part of [Foreign Affairs] Open House – a mini cultural festival

Starting now and running until November this year, we will be exploring some of the work of András Visky – Hungarian poet, playwright, resident dramaturg and associate artistic director of Cluj-Napoca Hungarian Theatre, Romania. A rehearsed reading, a full production and a post-show talk with Visky himself, are part of our season of his works.

[Foreign Affairs] Open House – Our mini festival is an annual free event opening up the company’s inner workings to the general public, offering insight into the company’s working practice in a relaxed and creative environment. We will be opening our doors with a collection of events aimed at engaging our audiences, collaborators and friends of the company whilst celebrating our relationships!
